“Women as Mothers” (WAM) Group Facilitator Training PROUDLY SUPPORTED BY CURASH Date/s: Monday 12 March 2012 Monday 15 October 2012 Time: 9.30am – 3.30pm (9.00am Registration) Venue: Karitane Function & Conference Centre 138- 150 The Horsley Drive, Carramar NSW (Entrance via Mitchell Street) Cost: $125 or early bird $100 (early bird registrations must be submitted a month prior to the event) • Includes Morning Tea and Lunch for Participants • Receive a copy of the WAM Manual • A certificate of attendance WORKSHOP OVERVIEW Many first-time mothers experience a high degree of anxiety and stress associated with their new roles as mothers The WAM group has successfully helped new mothers support each other to increase their confidence as mothers and reduce their isolation and stress. WAM aims to assist women in making a positive transition to motherhood by providing practical parenting information, self-care skills and the opportunity to discuss issues relevant to becoming a mother in a supportive group environment. This course will assist workers in the facilitation of the group in their own work settings.
